Vaults Quartet
About
THE FULL STORY
The Vaults have stormed into the public eye since forming in 2009, performing at venues as diverse as the Cadogan Hall and Koko; from Wembley Stadium to Bond Street; from elite country house weddings to hip hop shows with international recording artists. Our name derives from our early residency at London Bridge Vaults. Our mission is to experiment, to collaborate, to leap at any challenge in any possible setting – and we do!
We are all highly experienced performers and infectious enthusiasm for the music we play combined with our incredible on-stage rapport is forging our reputation as one of London’s foremost session quartets.
We’re equally at home entertaining wedding guests with glittering renditions of classical and romantic favourites, or on stage playing funk with a full horn section. Our repertoire is constantly evolving, encompassing a huge range from baroque to pop and rock arrangements, from Beethoven to Bieber, and we’re lucky to be blessed with a talented in-house arranger to satisfy our craving for new styles and sounds.
The Vaults musicians have previously appeared at venues including the Royal Albert Hall, Wembley Stadium, Glastonbury Festival, The Barbican, The Union Buildings in Pretoria South Africa for the inauguration of Nelson Mandela, Bologna University Hall, Village Underground Shoreditch, The Southbank Centre, Hammersmith Apollo and many more.
Our wide-ranging musical backgrounds include concerto performances of Bach’s Double Violin Concerto, Vivaldi’s Concerto for Four Violins, and Holst’s Lyric Movement; orchestral performances with the Orchestra of St Paul’s, the Transiberian Orchestra and the Royal College of Music Symphony Orchestra, and non-classical performances at Lattitude, Glastonbury, Boomtown and Wilderness Festivals as well as TV appearances aplenty.
Most recently The Vaults appeared on The Royal Albert Hall's Global Stages broadcast, joining a star studded cast including Tom Odell, Bryn Terfel and Ballet Black.
